THE MAKERS

. The Daiyo family business was founded in 1914 in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Now in their fourth generation, they make authentic Japanese candles that are known nationwide for their quality and beauty. All Daiyo candles are intricately handcrafted by master artisans using traditional methods and made exclusively from vegetable waxes. It is said that there are only 10 master craftsmen left in Japan who have mastered this type of traditional candle making.
