A passionate plea for good consumption!

The difference is not the quantity, but the quality!
What we surround ourselves with, how we feed ourselves, what we wear or how we furnish ourselves: It's not the quantity that makes the difference, but the quality. Well-made, beautiful, durable things give pleasure, accompany and enrich us.
But how do we recognise what is really good? By the price? By origin, by craftsmanship, by tradition, by the rating of Stiftung Warentest, by the organic seal, or perhaps by something else entirely?
Dirk Hohnsträter, an expert on consumer culture, argues for a new attitude to everyday life. His voyage of discovery into the rich world of quality reveals one thing: it's all about time - in the making as much as in the seeking. It's about material and workmanship, about function and form, about the relationship between value and price and last but not least: about the art of pleasing oneself. There is a world full of great things out there. Let's sharpen our eyes for the things that contribute to a better life!
