Beschreibung

    Of sublime quality, white tea in China was reserved for emperorsand high nobility. Mild bouquet and a unique jasmine scent - a majestic delight

    white tea owes its name to the white, white tea owes its name to the white, silky fluff that surrounds the young tea buds and is only two percent fermented tea. This fermentation takes place naturally during the withering process.
    The highest-quality variety "Yin Zhen" (Silver Needle) is one of the most sought-after and correspondingly most expensive white teas, for which only particularly young and aromatic shoots of the large white tea bush are picked.
    The harvest only takes place on two or three days a year when the climatic conditions are perfect. It must not rain or be windy. This would damage the sensitive tea. As soon as the flowers of the jasmine bush are available a few weeks later, they are carefully mixed by hand into the tea to "flavour" it. A few days later, the blossoms are sorted out again in extremely laborious manual work and what remains is a wonderfully flowery jasmine fragrance

    White Silver Needle is in itself a highly sought-after tea - and correspondingly even rarer from certified organic cultivation. We consider ourselves fortunate to have long-standing relationships with our partners in China, so that we can offer this rarity at all.

    These exceptional quality raw materials were previously only available as loose tea; only Sirocco's handmade tea bags make it possible to process these first-class teas as individually packaged tea portions.

    The handmade bags made of biodegradable material are packed on the basis of natural corn starch (no nylon). Without the use of glue or staples, each bag is individually hand-sewn with unbleached, natural cotton thread - truly a small work of art.

    Story.

    Over 100 years ago, Alfons Kuster founded his coffee roasting company on the upper side of Lake Zurich. Even then with a great love of detail. Just like today. Sirocco still finds the best producers for you. People who care for their products with heart and soul. People who make no compromises when it comes to the quality of their precious raw products.

    Of course, much has changed since then, but the company makes a point of ensuring that the spirit of this venerable tradition lives on with modern and sustainable cultivation and processing methods. Because that's where coffee differs from coffee and tea from tea. That is precisely where our palate feels the difference. And enjoys the memory of tradition with every drop.
